Botox treatments are all the rage right now. Botox injections use a toxin called onabotulinumtoxinA to temporarily prevent a muscle from moving in the treated area. The most common use of these injections is to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes. Other than this, Botox injections can also be used to treat several health related problems like Lazy Eye, Cervical dystonia, Chronic migraines and also problems like continuous eye twitching.

Everyone’s skin is unique. Some people will develop noticeable frown and forehead lines in their twenties, while other people may have wrinkle-free skin until they reach a more mature age. You can start getting Botox treatments from as early an age as 18, but 86% of people do not see signs of ageing before the age of 30.

Minimal signs of ageing can be slowed down if You start taking care of your skin from an early age. Starting botox treatments is a big decision, and you should get proper consultation before making an informed decision about your skin. Here at Skin Club Cosmetic Doctors, in Melbourne, we offer a lot of expert cosmetic procedures for your ageing problems.

Let’s look at the effects of Botox treatments for each age group :

Your 20s –

At this age, you will not be showing any prominent signs of ageing, but you may want to start early. Our experts at Skin Club Cosmetic Doctors will most likely recommend you a ‘Baby Botox’, which uses smaller doses than regular treatments.

At this age, a Botox treatment will slow down your ageing process, it will also prevent sun damage.

Your 30s –

In your 30s, you will finally start showing some prominent signs of ageing. Although this may vary from person to person. So your late 30s may be an accurate time to consider Botox.

Your lifestyle choices like smoking, drinking alcohol and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight are the main contributors for your ageing signs. Another main cause of the age lines on your face at this age is definitely the stress. Stress is a top contributor to slow the production of collagen in your skin.

A Botox at this stage will definitely help you get rid of frown and stress lines as well as any crow’s feet you may be developing.

Your 40s –

Most of the people who get Botox treatments come from this age group.

With age, as your facial muscles begin to sag down, you will notice more and more deep seated wrinkles developing. You may have reduced your stress levels, or you may not even be moving your face that much, but these ageing signs are still bound to develop at this point.

At this stage, even dermatologically tested creams and external applicators will not help much. Starting a Botox treatment at this point will help you the most.

Your 50s –

With the onset of menopause, your skin texture will start worsening at a faster rate. Collagen and muscle elasticity will start deteriorating faster, and your skin will lose its ability to retain much moisture. It will feel loose and dehydrated. The wrinkles will be much more deep seated by this point.

If you have been using Botox injections beforehand, then these signs can be prevented before time. You may also start considering Botox treatments more seriously.

At this point though, women often consider Botox combined with other long lasting treatments like Dermal Fillers or Eyelift.
