There are two types of facial wrinkles:
Dynamic Wrinkles
These are caused by repetitive facial movements. Each time there is muscle activity, a hollow is formed under the skin surface; hence we see lines with each facial expression.
Static Wrinkles
Static wrinkles are lines or folds that are visible even when a face is relaxed. These are caused by gravity and loss of fat, collagen, and skin’s ability to stretch.
Crow’s feet are both dynamic and static. They are mostly produced by dynamic activity like squinting and smiling, but they are also caused by loss of collagen and elastin.
Skin movement and loss of skin elasticity and collagen because of aging are the main reasons for crow’s feet. The skin around your eyes is very thin and can be the first area of your face to show signs of aging. As we age, skin loses its plumpness and ability to stretch, and fine lines and wrinkles are an unavoidable and natural part of the process. Crow’s feet are the fine lines that appear around your eyes. These are developed over time as muscle contraction occurs and pulls the eye skin inward each time we make a facial expression. In addition, free radicals, hormonal changes, and sun exposure add up to the damage.
Crow’s feet may start small and unnoticeable, but they can deepen over time and without the proper attention. These lines develop earlier than you might think, around the mid to late twenties, and many are not expecting it.

We cannot stop the passing of time and not blinking or smiling is also not an option so we cannot keep away from getting crow’s feet. However, there are several products and treatments that can prevent or reduce wrinkles around your eyes
Topical Creams: Eye cream is used to battle signs of aging by stimulating skin production. Topical eye cream may help lessen the appearance of fine lines around the eyes, but will not improve deep crow’s feet. Results of topical eye creams are usually seen within 24 weeks.
Chemical Peels. Chemical peels can enhance crow’s feet and nurture youthful and healthier skin. There are three types of chemical peels – superficial peels, medium-depth peels, and deep peels. The effects of the peel and the recovery time involved will depend on the type of peel you get.
Laser Resurfacing is a procedure that removes the upper layers of the skin resulting in newer younger looking skin. Laser resurfacing works well for crow’s feet because it heats several layers of skin, which stimulates collagen production. Increased collagen production can help the skin around the eye heal in a smoother way
Anti Wrinkle Injection. Crows feet can effectively be treated by botox. Anti Wrinkle Injection on crows feet weakens the facial muscle in the eye area which reduces the facial wrinkles. Anti Wrinkle Injection on crow’s feet will not keep you from making facial expressions. It will only target those muscles in the eye area that are causing your crow’s feet. The muscles around your eyes will start to relax after few days and botox for crow’s feet result can last 4 to 12 months.

Collagen Injections. One purpose of collagen is to support the growth factor and is a huge part of tissues in the body including the skin. Purified collagen used for these can come from cows or human cells and may last up to 3 months. This type of filler may not last as long as the others but produces more natural looking results.
Calcium Hydroxylapatite Dermal Filler. This filler is a type of mineral that can be found in teeth and bones. The particles are put in a gel-like solution then injected into the wrinkles to fill it. The results of this filler last about one year and a half.

You cannot permanently get rid of crow’s feet because we cannot hinder the muscle in the eye area from moving when we smile, blink, or other natural facial expressions we have. However, we can delay and limit the gravity of eye wrinkles by doing the following:
Though getting treatment is more effective and is longer lasting, there are still natural ways how we can achieve a fine line and wrinkle-free appearance. You may use the following ingredients as an alternative to cosmetic treatment and hope to achieve the best outcome:
Who would have thought that a happy expression such as smiling and laughing results in the formation of lines. Though we always want to think that everyone is beautiful, there are some who think that wrinkles make them look older than they are and can turn that smile into a frown. Over time, repetitive muscle action of smiling makes the skin lax creating permanent creases. It also wears down the tissue that even if you already stop smiling, wrinkles and lines around the eyes remain. Crow’s feet is also considered a smile or laugh line. There are several factors why crow’s are developed, such as; too much exposure to the sun, lifestyle (smoking), and forceful movement. However, more often than not, smile lines are caused by aging.
Crow’s feet can be taken as an indication that we have many reasons to laugh and be happy about and can even bring personality to your face but some feel that these little crinkles around the eyes make them look older. There are different treatments available to fix crow’s feet. The treatment you choose will depend on the severity of the crow’s feet and your desired outcome. In some cases, you may want to try a combination of treatments.
Crow’s feet is difficult to hide but you may try doing the following. Apply moisturizing eye cream twice a day. Once before you put on make-up and another at night time. Apply primer to fill deep wrinkles for a smoother look. Use light to medium concealer and foundation because heavy make-up makes the crow’s feet more distinct. If you don’t have time to get a new foundation, try applying your current one with a damp sponge. Blend it well for flawless, light coverage. Avoid using loose powder because it settles in your wrinkles. Use a highlighter on your cheeks and use dramatic lipstick to keep the attention away from your eyes.
